Counseling

District 231 counselors are dedicated to helping students thrive in all areas of life. School counselors serve all students and focus on building connections, fostering healthy relationships, and teaching students how to manage emotions. School counselors lead, advocate and collaborate to promote equity and access for all students. School counselors value the relationship with students and will honor their privacy unless information regarding safety is revealed; as mandated reporters, if a student shares information about hurting themselves, someone else, or about abuse, school counselors will maintain legal and ethical responsibilities.
