District 231 is committed to providing an outstanding program of instruction for our students. Our vision is to be a recognized leader in student achievement through an innovative curriculum in both English and Spanish, and a caring environment delivered by highly qualified teachers. 

The Illinois Learning Standards (ILS) define what all students in all Illinois public schools should know and be able to do in the core areas as a result of their elementary and secondary schooling. As a district, we are constantly researching and reviewing our materials to make sure they are age appropriate and rigorous. As a curriculum team, we are always looking for supplemental resources to enhance instruction to be engaging and meaningful.  Curriculum topics and resources are constantly evolving based on student data, student motivation/engagement, and evidence-based research (both locally and nationally).
