Important date changes this week: The band/choir concert has been rescheduled for Thursday, December 18th at 6 p.m., and 7th and 8th grade girls basketball tryouts have been changed from Monday and Thursday to Monday and Tuesday from 3:30-5:00. The orchestra concert will still take place on Wednesday, December 17th at 6 p.m. Thank you for your flexibility with this.

Cambios importantes de fechas esta semana: El concierto de banda/coro ha sido reprogramado para el jueves 18 de diciembre a las 6:00 p. m., y las pruebas para el equipo de baloncesto femenino de 7.º y 8.º grado se han cambiado de lunes y jueves a lunes y martes, de 3:30 a 5:00 p. m. Rochelle Middle School students took part in our annual RMS Gives Back initiative throughout the month of November. This year, they crafted handmade bracelets for every student at Tilton, Central, and Lincoln Elementary Schools.
In addition, some of our students made posters to give to every classroom. The bracelets and posters were delivered to classrooms on Friday and were welcomed with big smiles from students and staff!

Each month, staff members at Rochelle Middle School receive R's to recognize their efforts in going above and beyond for our students, staff, and school community. For the month of October, we are proud to highlight the following individuals and teams who make RMS a better place every day: Ms. Hahn, who is a true team player and leads our staff Birthday Buddies. Ms. Potts, for promoting a love of reading and organizing our AR program. Mr. Hernandez, who shares his artistic ability with students every day and designed the RMS hay bale. Ms. Saldana, who always makes her students feel safe and secure. Thank you to all of our RMS staff for your continued commitment to excellence and teamwork! ------------------------------------- Cada mes, el personal de la Escuela Intermedia Rochelle recibe una R en reconocimiento a su esfuerzo por superarse a sí mismo para nuestros estudiantes, personal y comunidad escolar. Rochelle Middle School students will participate in a school race, the “Gobble Wobble,” paired with a canned food drive to benefit the Rochelle Food Pantry. The food drive will run from Monday, November 18th through Monday, November 24th, and students are encouraged to bring in canned or boxed food items throughout the week. “Together we run, together we give” - The race will take place on Monday, November 24th, during Encore classes.

Rochelle Middle School estudiantes participarán en una carrera escolar, la “Gobble Wobble”, junto con una colecta de alimentos enlatados para beneficiar al Banco de Alimentos de Rochelle. La colecta se llevará a cabo del lunes 18 al lunes 24 de noviembre, y se anima a los estudiantes a traer alimentos enlatados o en caja durante toda la semana. “Juntos corremos, juntos damos”. La carrera tendrá lugar el lunes 24 de noviembre, durante las clases de refuerzo.

Each year, RMS creates a video highlighting local veterans and alumni who have served. We invite veterans who attended RMS or currently live in Rochelle to submit a short video sharing their experiences. These clips are combined into a single video that teachers show in classrooms. While social studies classes will focus primarily on the video, it will be available for all students to view.

In the past, RMS has had hallway displays dedicated to Veterans Day, showcasing how service has evolved across different periods of war. This year, Mrs. Anderson is creating a more permanent display to celebrate and honor our veterans. RMS is still seeking alumni to help us honor our veterans by contributing to our permanent Veteran’s Wall - you may submit your photo and information to Mrs. Anderson at any time! (Details below)

Cada año, RMS crea un video que destaca a los veteranos locales y exalumnos que han servido. Invitamos a los veteranos que asistieron a RMS o que actualmente viven en Rochelle a enviar un breve video compartiendo sus experiencias. Estos clips se combinan en un solo video que los maestros muestran en las clases. Aunque las clases de estudios sociales se enfocarán principalmente en el video, estará disponible para que todos los estudiantes lo vean.
