The students at Rochelle Middle School learned how a simple act of kindness can make a big difference in the lives of others by making tie blankets. During advisory time, they created colorful blankets with their own hands, knowing they would bring warmth to people in need. ‐------------------------------------------------- Los estudiantes de la Escuela Secundaria Rochelle aprendieron cómo un simple acto de amabilidad puede hacer una gran diferencia en la vida de los demás al hacer mantas de nudos. C.A.N. Annual Hat, Coat, and Mitten Drive

On Monday RMS had an opportunity to host State Representative Bradley Fritts as part of the Illinois Principal Association, Principal for a day program. Mr. Fritts toured the building, visited several classrooms and met with members of our student action committee. 7th and 8th grade student action committee members had the opportunity to meet with him and ask questions. It was great to observe as questions ranged from how he got into politics and his background to who his celebrity crush was! —------- El lunes, RMS tuvo la oportunidad de recibir al Representante Estatal Bradley Fritts como parte del programa Director por un día de la Asociación de Directores de Illinois. El Sr. Fritts recorrió el edificio, visitó varios salones de clase y se reunió con miembros de nuestro comité de acción estudiantil. Los miembros del comité de acción estudiantil de 7º y 8º grado tuvieron la oportunidad de reunirse con él y hacerle preguntas. ¡Fue genial observar cómo las preguntas iban desde cómo llegó a la política y sus antecedentes hasta quién era la celebridad que le gustaba!

Congratulations to Ms. Hahn! She is this week's Wills Chiropractic School Staff Super Star! Ms. Hahn was nominated by Ellie Siebler. Here is what Ellie had to say about Ms. Hahn: "Ms. Hahn is super duper funny. She is also very sweet. She's one of the best teachers I've met since I've been in middle school."

Rochelle Middle School Reading Buddies Program 8th-grade students mentor younger students in their classrooms, building connections and serving as positive role models.

Rochelle Middle School 8th Grade Reading Buddies Program The Reading Buddies program has kicked off again this year with a group of 8th-grade students. This initiative gives them the opportunity to visit Lincoln School and engage in classroom activities with younger students.

Accelerated Reader is a helpful tool that encourages students to read more often and build their reading skills. By reading regularly, students can improve their vocabulary, reading speed, and understanding, which helps them do better in school. At Rochelle Middle School, students who achieve 80% or higher on their AR quizzes are entered into the monthly drawing for a $10 gift card. Congratulations to this week's Wills Chiropractic School Staff Super Star Ms. Prestegaard! She gives us fun labs and projects, and makes slideshows every day for us. She also takes pictures at school events and sends them to us, so she is very involved for us outside of school too. She is always kind to me even though I am not in 7th grade anymore. I appreciate having someone like her to talk to when I'm having a bad day."
