French 2 students recently concluded a unit on how to describe various quantities of food. The students used their French language skills to write their own salsa recipes and competed against each other for la meilleure recette (best recipe). Merci to Mr. Zepeda for all the salsa making tips!

The application window is currently open for FBI Springfield’s Teen Academy to be held Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Teen Academy provides a unique opportunity for motivated high school students to develop leadership skills and investigate the world of law enforcement by engaging in team-building experiences, discovering careers in law enforcement, and learning to communicate and collaborate across cultures. Teen Academy is open to rising junior and senior high school students in the 2024-2025 school year who have an interest in leadership and service. Students must go online to access the application. Further information about Teen Academy can be found online. The application deadline is Friday, May 31, 2024. Students interested in a future career in education had the opportunity to attend an Education Symposium at Sauk Valley Community College last week. This full day event allowed our RTHS students to choose 4 workshop/break out sessions of their choice to learn more about education pathways. They were also able to participate in a scavenger hunt and attend a College Fair to talk with representatives.
