Big thank you to all the Key Club members who have sorted bottle caps. Over 3500 pounds used to make benches all around the Rochelle community and surrounding communities. Golden K Kiwanis has partnered with Key Club to install: *11 six-foot benches *2 eight-foot sport benches for Focus House. *1 six-foot picnic table for Creston School. Awesome work! Thank you all! More benches to come as there are 750 sorted pounds of bottle caps in storage and another 200 pounds left to sort.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY!!! The Annual 2 Ton Thanksgiving Food Drive Box Distribution will be taking place on Saturday, November 18th. The Rochelle FFA hosted Bowling 4 Byrds at T-Byrd Lanes. Members bowled 2 games, and the Rochelle FFA Chapter will donate 1 turkey per strike and 1 side dish per spare to the 2 Ton Thanksgiving Food Drive! The members were able to bowl 14 strikes and 12 spares in their bowled games!

Art Hub's been busy! On Halloween, students decorated containers with fluorescent paint and googly eyes. On Nov. 6, Art Hub and GACME Club welcomed artist Jerry Moffit from Do Art Productions for a character-drawing workshop. Also, Jerry presented a certificate to Manny Cruz from a previous Do Art event.

SENIORS!! Fall Scholarship Application Now Open! November 1st marked the first of the CFNIL (Community Foundation of Northern Illinois) Scholarship application openings. The fall cycle will be open to applicants from November 1st to January 1st. It includes the traditional Howard D. Colman Scholarship Program, the new renewable Fehr Graham Scholarship, and the Gary S. Wilmer/RAMI Scholarship for music (previously part of the winter application). This is now a universal application and will match applicants to any of the three scholarships they meet the criteria for. Students can head to our website to learn more and click ‘Apply for a Scholarship’ to create their portal account and start their application. Dr. Lewis has nominated two recent nominees for the RTHS staff for the Critical Thinker Award: Mrs. Lindsay Suess and Ms. Yvonne Brass. Mrs. Suess serves as a math teacher and assistant Volleyball coach at RTHS. Beyond her teaching and coaching roles, she has displayed exceptional leadership in developing the RTHS freshman seminar program. She collaborated with several other RTHS staff members to create a video titled "How to be a Hub" for this class. https://youtu.be/5jH6zOL4shQ?feature=shared Ms. Brass holds a diverse array of responsibilities at RTHS that demand quick thinking every day. She fulfills the role of test reader coordinator and special education administrative assistant, managing all accommodations for students with special needs. Additionally, she contributes to tasks including managing RTHS athletic tickets, assisting in the main office, and really doing anything else that is needed to make the school run smoothly. Both Received a $75 gift certificate to the RTHS booster club web store and will donate $50 to the donation of their choice. Money to fund this program comes from donations from the RTHS Class of 1961 and the RTHS Alumni Association. #weRhubs
