The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. The scholarship provides $2,000 to help pay for essential items to attend college and up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Up to 1,200 new U.S. Hagan Scholarships can be awarded for the 2026-2027 academic year. Check out the link for more info and the application. Application is due 12/1/25.

Seniors and families of seniors! RTHS will be hosting a FAFSA Completion Workshop next Tuesday, 10/28, from 5:30-7:00 pm to assist you with all things FAFSA including filling out the FAFSA online. Rochelle Township High School proudly congratulates Wyatt Worthington and Kyler Dickson on being selected as recipients of this year’s Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) and Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Awards, respectively.
These esteemed honors are awarded to seniors who demonstrate exemplary citizenship in their homes, schools, and communities. Wyatt and Kyler have consistently shown outstanding leadership, character, service, and patriotism—qualities that define the spirit of these awards.

The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Trades Exploration Day at DHS this Wednesday from 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM. It's free to attend, and the event will have representatives from many local businesses as well as city departments (Fire, Police, Public Works, etc.) on hand to talk to students and any interested community members about potential career paths as well as current job openings.

The REC Center in Rochelle is hosting a FREE Life Lessons 101 session featuring an RTHS Guidance Counselor on Tuesday, October 21st at 5:30. This session will provide tips for applying for a job, writing a resume and acing an interview. No need to to sign up, just stop in to learn helpful hints for your next job search.

Approximately 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, they placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.3 million students who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).
RTHS extends heartfelt congratulations to Mark Green and his family for this outstanding achievement.
